Steve ended up having a half-reasonable night and we had a quiet day where we wandered down Oxford Street – as it is a Sunday it was actually great to be able to wander around without too many people. Selfridge’s had a window display of comedy associated things that was really fun and gave us a smile or two including a giant woopee cushion filling one window.
We ended up in Carnaby Street (one of our favourites) and stopped quite often for Steve to re-apply the anti-inflammatory cream and to massage his knee. He had done quite a bit of research and had found a trigger spot on the side of his calf and has found that it helps immensely even though it is very painful to start.

We decided to head back to the Victory Services Club trying to find a chemist on the way that stocked a knee brace that Steve can use. Steve then decided to use the RICE principle and I got some ice from the restaurant and made sure he was comfortable and I went for a walk back down Oxford Street to Carnaby Street stopping at Primark to buy some t-shirts for Ollie, Leo and Austin.
The crowds by this time were cloying and I didn’t stay out very long. I really don’t like being around a lot of people any more. I did wander around the Liberty Store for a while soaking in the history.
We had booked our dinner at the VSC and had a lovely meal before heading back to the room for a night time dose of anti-inflammatories for Steve before watching a bit of British TV and heading to bed.
