March - Preparation for Camino 2024

After 6 years, I am finally getting back to Camino and am very excited at the prospect of more of those memorable days - this time sharing the experience with Steve. It will be his first long haul walk and he is just as excited as I am. All the preparations have been made, accommodation booked and most importantly the new boots have been well worn in. My old boots are still sitting in my wardrobe as I am unable to throw them out as they are the tangible evidence of one of the most significant journeys I have made.

Steve wants to see the Camino through my eyes but I want to see it once again through fresh eyes and watch his transformation as he understands the significance of the life lessons and what it meant for me at that time of my life.

So much has happened since my return from Camino 2018 and a return to Camino feels even more important this time. We have lost very significant people in our lives and had a few medical scares but have also welcomed new partners and engagements for our children, three beautiful grandsons, returning to live in the city of my birth (and heart), and beautiful new friends. We are truly blessed and I know that all these people will be with us in spirit as we walk.
